Clean, Green, Innovation Machine

My mission is to run a net-zero set of home projects focused on innovations to help secure a better environment for my family's future. With every innovation, I will ensure it is evaluated on how it can be sustainable before getting started. Below are my goals:

Net Zero

As AFinnovations was built, I did so with a view of sustainability as a cornerstone of its purpose. Every aspect of the projects I build and the technology I use for day-to-day tasks is selected based on being renewable or including acceptable monitoring. With this in mind, I have been able to build a portfolio that is net zero.

  • Science-based targets. I have set clear and achievable targets that will allow me to establish and sustain being net zero.
  • Inventory of internal processes to understand where my usage comes from, applying this to my methods of tracking enables full coverage.
  • Set targets for the projects going forward and review them each year.

Transparent Tracking

Having clear and transparent tracking is critical to being sustainable. What I believe is also important is the way that tracking is achieved. Having a slow and tedious process to get statistics, complicated calculations to differentiate Scope 1 vs Scope 2 vs Scope 3, and publishing in various media forms can all result in reduced personal engagement and possibly inaccurate tracking.

  • An automated process to gather, calculate, and publish frequently.
  • Easy-to-understand graphs aligned to my project goals.

Setting goals and keeping track whilst always transparent

Through my process of tracking emissions, I will be monitoring internal and external usage and publishing the data to this site every month. This page holds graphs of my impact on the environment, including the number of trees planted, my project emissions, and my eco offsets.
